What are some five strange but true facts about my team in Arizona Diamondbacks. Talk about their history, their stadiums or their players. Thanks :):)
1. On March 31, 1998 Travis Lee got the franchise's first ever hit (a single), run, homer, and RBI!
2. April 5, 1998 was the Diamondbacks first win, the score was 3-2 over San Francisco Giants!
3. On July 11, 1999 Jay Bell hit a grand slam and won a fan one million dollars (the fan predicted the inning and player that would hit a grand slam)!!!
4. On September 24, 1999 Arizona became the first expansion team to clinch their division and make the playoffs in only 2 years!!!
5. Steve Finley was the first ever Diamondback to win a gold glove!!!
6. On July 5, 2000 Luis Gonzalez became the first Diamondback to hit for the cycle!!!
7. Luis Gonzalez tied Ken Griffey Jr. for the record for most homers in the month of April (13)!!
8. March 24, 2001 Randy Johnson was pitching and hit a bird, the birstrange but true factsd died.
9. November 4, 2001 (ONE OF THE HAPPIEST DAYS OF MY LIFE!) the Diamondbacks beat the Yankees in Game 7 of the World Series, the fastest an expansion team ever won a championship!!!!!!!!
10. September 2, 2002 马克 Grace (1st baseman) ended up pitching in the ninth inning against the dodgers!!!
11. September 19, 2003 Randy Johnson hit his first home run!!!
I know you only asked for five, but this is my favorite team and I just couldn't stop!!!
The best part about the best answer is the excitement with which it is written.
- 1st game ever played - Colorado Rockies in Colorado - lost (Fireworks went off in Phoenix as the first pitch was being thrown) -1st all star - Devon White (who is black) -1st to hit a homerun into the pool - 马克 Grace (He hit it against the D-Backs but is now a broadcaster for the D-Backs) -When Council scored the wistrange but true factsnning run on Gonzo's hit in WS game 7 9th inning, it was the second time that he had done exactly that. The 1st time was WS game 7 9th inning & the batter was Edgar Rentorria - Florida Marlins. -Since the stadium is now called Chase Field, is the grass still called BOB sod? (I'm going to say that's a fact because BOB sod is now a national brand name.) That's five.
1. Team motto: The Future Is Now
2. Never retired a number besides Jackie Robinson's.
3. Victory Song: Remember the Name by Fort Minor
That's all I can find-sorry!
The Diamondbacks let Buck Showalter pick the team colors and design the first season uniforms.
They let chimps choose their roster... if bringing back Randy Johnson is any indication.
