cat kneadWhy does my cat knead his paws on my blanket?

My cat kneads his paws on only my baby blanket and nothing else, except maybe my comforter.
Why does he do this?
He purrs as he does it.
Why not knead other things?
I guess sometimes he kneads me.
He's making muffins!

Kittens do this to the mom to stimulate milk production when they are nursing. Adults do it just to show contentment and happiness. This means your kitty wuuuuuuvs you! :)
it means he was taken from his mother too early and is still retaining these babyish characteristics.

He is showing his contentment, my cats do it before they settle somewhere snuggly to go down for a nap.
It feels good to them.
cats do that to get comfy for a nap...they are happy when they do it or tired
lol, thats cute, my cat does that too, but your cat does this when it is happy and comfortable. your cat likes to do that to you, your comforter, and your blanket, because they are soft. my cat does that to my stomach. cats do this because they like comfort to their paws, and they like anything soft, and they like however you would describe someone's stomach or skin. lol ur cat sounds cute.
it's a sign of affection and contentment. mine does this on my snuggly blanket. just shows the they're calm and comfortable. i imagine they item they choose to knead on it chosen by how it feels on their paws or because catcat kneads are smarter than we think and they know the item means a lot to us, so therefore it must me a lot to them too. who knows... cats are mysterious creatures.
Cats do that (what I call "paddy paw")to the one they consider their mother/father. It shows love. Evidently the blankets carry your scent.
loving feelings of comfort, home and "mother" (they knead the mother's belly while nursing to stimulate the flow of milk)...you have a happy, secure little love bug of a kitty
to get all comfy
when kittens are getting milk from their mom, they knead their mom's stomach to get the milk out.when it dose that to you or your blanket your cat is showing that it is in a cuddly mode or its just happy.
They do this because they are remembering nursing as it was a good time for them, they were with their Mom and brothers and sisters all of them all warm and purring and it was a good time in life. You can tell they are getting nostalgic because they look like they are in a trance or something, the soft things really remind them of the good 'ol days.
It's comfortable to knead on. My cat LOVES to knead on my thick, soft blankets. I call it her ''happy feet''. :) I love it.
They knead because they are happy and it thinks that the blanket is it's mom!
When a cat does that it's a carry over from her kitten days they do that to their mother to produce milk whcat kneaden they eat'
Three reasons
1) As they are young they do this on the billy of their mom to stimulate milk production and that behavior stays in their instinct and is associated with "relaxing"
2) As adult they will do this to "relax" themselves or even you. Study have shown that some cats will do this on the bed of their master as they feel something has change in the routine of their masters often caused by stress.
3) Some male will do this as masturbation. No kidding. Although the position is a little bit different the two previous reasons. When doing masturbation, the kitty will bring forth his rear leg and sit more on the tail than on their butt

As for the reason they are doing this in specific places, it is only known by the cat. There is a reason but it could be anything that may not make any sense for you so don't try to understand it.
the cat probably thinks the blanket is his mother. my cats knead me all the time, but it can get annoying. wen a kitten is born, it kneads its mother's belly to get milk, and it is enjoyable for the cat, just like petting reminds a cat of its mother's licking. if it gets bothersome, puch the cat away or nail caps. you're luck, my friends cat sucks on her blanket too!
