My computer had some problems a few months ago and I had to reboot it back to factory settings. After this I reinstalled itunes but it doesn't play the music...the same goes for windows media player. Also if I try to play a cd it has no sound either. The speakers do work as I have gone on youtube and other video sites and they play. I also checked the volume mixer and all of them are on.
Look in device manager..
You might need to be logged on asfree computer repair download software an administrator in order to do this.
Open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Double-click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
See if there's a warning triangle next to your sound driver. If that's the case, try rolling back/updating the driver. If that fails or you don't have one to roll back - look on the munufacturer's site for the correct drivers for your OS/sound card, or use one of these generic onfree computer repair download softwarees.
For XP...
Download, install the first two files (AC97), then re-start.
For Vista/Win 7...
Download, install the first file (AC97), then re-start.
To install the drivers, double click the downloaded file and follow any prompts.
You need to download your sound card drivers. Go to your computer manufactures website; they should have them available for you based upon either the serial number or model type.
